Hold the (diaper) gravy, please.

Don't come to Montreal, we've got the GASTRO!!!

Cat, our morning guy brought up an interesting point the other day. He's a western kid, and he has never heard the term 'gastro' outside of Montreal. Gotta tell you I haven't either! Gross word, isn't it? GASTRO. I also hate it when restaurants advertise their meals as "gastronomic". It sounds NAST.

Anyway - this city is dealing with a big ol' epidemic of Norwalk virus. Basically, you get a fever, the pukes and the bum coffee for a few days. Tons of people at work have been taken down by this thing - and 20-some area hospitals have been trying to control the outbreak. Gah. Even writing about it makes me feel nauseous.

Anyway the outbreak is unusually widespread and the best way to protect yourself is to wash your hands and stop licking doorknobs--at least til we ride it out. Fight the good fight, citizens! And long for the day you can touch the homekeys with your tongue again.

Where's my bubble?

I brought my purell into work also.

BTW, does anyone know what is the best way to get a Sidney Crosby autographed hockey jersey framed? I bought one for my son and now looking into getting it framed is such a pain in the rear and just as expensive as the damn shirt.
There are different methods from sewing it, to stapeling it to sticking it in a plexiglass frame, or the cheapest way through COSTCO... anyone ever had anything like this done and where?

THANKS!

...And here in the Nation's Capital, snotty little media relations lady at Ottawa Hospital takes exception to an A-Channel story that uses the words outbreak and quarantine. It was only a dozen patients who weren't allowed visitors in a unit that wasn't accepting any more patients because of Norovirus -- hardly an outbreak or a quarantine.
May the stork dump a big diaper full of gravy on her arrogant little head.
