Fallin' For Montreal

I decided to pop in a give you a bit of an update. A BIT of one, cuz to tell the whole story, would get long.

The long and the short of it is - there are a poopload of stitches in the back of Ma Horton's head. She's also got a chipped neck vertebrae.  The most important news is: SHE'S OKAY! Really. I'm lookin' at her right now.

Seems Ma had a middle-o-the-night tinkle early Tuesday and suddenly felt woozy in the bathroom. The next thing she knew, she was on the floor, bleeding - having smacked her melon against the doorframe.  She woke up - got herself to Emerg. @ The Montreal General where they stitched her up good (4 inch long cut - it's insane) and did all the necessary tests (heart/catscan) and all that stuff came back clear. Seems she just had one of those moments - she fainted!   Let's not go into the fact that she DID NOT CALL ME from the hospital because she was worried I'd think it was an April Fool's joke!! Yeesh, ma. But I'm proud of her for doing it - and having the presence of mind to know that when you're bleeding from the head, you should probably get that looked at.

Anyhoo... the most important thing is, Ma's okay. And it could have been way worse.  And I'm staying with her for a few days to make sure no smacking of melons occurs.

And that's your HEADS UP. Get it? See? Makin' a funny at Headwound Harry's expense. Poor mama.

Glad to hear all is well... and Ma... no matter what you hear scars are SEXY!

My only question is... how many glasses of wine are to blame? ;-)

Hugs from Diddles and Me!

Pfftt! You should know Misster Kitty that Ma only drinks hard liquor and only at frat parties.

At first I wrote "fart parties". But, I guess that could apply.

Ever fainted? Not I. But that sux.

Fainting DOES suck! I passed out at Lionel Groulx metro once... low blood sugar... what was nice was that 3-4 people came over to me, one pick up my glasses they asked if I needed help wanted 911 etc.

And uh, Ma... next Frat Party... CALL ME!

This is not a Belated April Fool's joke - is it? cause I already fell for the one you conjured up on air. Yeah, I know I am easily fooled. I am so glad Ma is doing well. Now she has some new scars to go with her new hairdo!! heh

That fainting feeling has happened to me twice so far... Once when I was pregnant with sonny boy standing at my front doorway talking with my tenant when Poof! everything went black.

The 2nd time was about a year ago while in the shower with hubby (we were saving water) I guess the steam got to me after a while and again I fainted. Lucky hubby was there and he swooped me up and carried me out where after a few minutes I felt fine. No idea what caused it.

Ma, be well.

Glad mama is ok. I used to pass out regularly whe I was a kid, needles, dentists, anything that freaked me out made me faint. the last time I did was in December, and I felt it coming on while I was driving. I pulled the van over and fainted on the side of the highway in front of a church. A bunch of test and a a heart monitor(which I wore for 2 weeks) later, the results came back....stress. Seems the body will only take so much abuse before it shuts down...Anyway, glad ma is better, please give her a big hug from *her girls* here in the Great White north...xo
